For understanding the method of quick multiplication by twin number let’s consider an example of 25 x 22.
Step-1: Multiply unit digits of both the number. Any carry will be forwarded.
- 5 x 2 = 10 (1 will be carried forward)
Step-2: Sum the both digits of first number. Multiply the sum by second (ten) digit of second number. Add the carry (if any) from step-1.
- 2 + 5 = 7
- 7 x 2 = 14 + 1 (carry from step-1) = 15 (1 will be carried forward)

Step-3: Multiply tens digit of both the number. Add the carry (if any) from step-2.
- 2 x 2 =4
- 4 + 1 (carry from step-2) = 5
Step-4: Note down the answer in upward direction ignoring carry (5 – 5 – 0) i.e. 550.
